#748, FN - Fabrique Nationale D'Armes De Guerre Herstal-Belgique; Belgium: An FN Belgium 12 Bore Back Action Sidelock Ejector Game Gun Made in 1930, 30" Demi Bloc Ejector Chopper Lump barrels with a rib extension hidden third bite, .724 .011 & .022" (Imp.Cyl. & Mod.), Original 2 3/4" chambers, Wall thickness on the right barrel at .032" & the left .033", Barrel weight 1.399 KG, Nitro proved in Belgium, Bushed strikers, Double triggers, Splinter forend with a frontal Anson release, Straight hand stock at 14 3/4 x 1 1/2 x 2 1/4" over a 3/4" leather pad, Very slight cast-off for the right hand, 7 lbs. 4 oz., Border engraving, Very nice wood, This piece was professionally refinished and very well done, The barrels now with 99% blue, The frame and lock plates with 97% blue, The wood has been reoiled and appears it was not sanded and it now remains at 97%, The checkering is at 99%, The bores are excellent, It is on the face with a lot of bite left. This gun remains in overall very nice condition and represents a solid value for a sidelock gun from the Golden Era of all things involving the sporting gun. This gun is very robust, the only enemy it has is rust and politicians.
